Thunder Ducks Bridle Owls, 3-2 | In a low-scoring clash between Los Angeles and San Francisco, pitcher Jerry Reuss was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 win. Reuss picked up the win for Los Angeles, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-2. Lefty Gomez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 17 of 24 save opportunities.
Los Angeles used the clutch hitting of Kenji Johjima to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Thunder Ducks ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Jerry was pounding the zone," said Los Angeles manager Josh Herrmann.
The third-place Thunder Ducks have won 4 straight. | | | | |
