| Thunder Ducks Earn 4-3 Win Versus Crawdads | The Los Angeles Thunder Ducks did just enough to sneak past the Pittsburgh Crawdads, 4-3, at Eclipse Park I. Los Angeles designated hitter Ad Gumbert, in particular, had a standout performance. The winner was Los Angeles reliever Lefty West, now 1-0. The loser was Ezra Lincoln. With the win, Los Angeles pushed its record to 53-43.
Los Angeles won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Ezra Lincoln on the mound for Pittsburgh, third baseman Bill Joyce hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Thunder Ducks fans to their feet.
Gumbert attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
