Goodall Sensational for Nine | The Mudville Nine beat the Los Angeles Thunder Ducks, 3-1, at Eclipse Park I. Starting pitcher Herb Goodall was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Mudville is now 30-40, while Los Angeles is 46-24.
Goodall earned the win to move to 5-8. In his 8.1-inning performance, he scattered 2 hits, striking out 6 and walking 4. The right-hander allowed the Thunder Ducks few scoring opportunities.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Mudville manager Bill McGunnigle. "It's usually not just one thing." | | | | |
