Nordiques Knock Off Los Angeles, 4-3 | The Baltimore Nordiques did just enough to secure a victory over the Los Angeles Thunder Ducks, 4-3, at Eclipse Park I. Nobody did more than pitcher Joe Neale. Neale went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 4-3. Norm Baker recorded his 10th save for Baltimore.
John Pickett, the 26-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Pickett contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth inning to put Baltimore up, 4-3.
"I like our mindset right now," said Baltimore manager Frank Selee.
Baltimore has now won 4 straight. | | | | |
