| Thunder Ducks Take Down Millstones, 3-2 | The Los Angeles Thunder Ducks had to overcome a fine performance from Plattsville pitcher Ed Klepfer to grab a 3-2 win at Jefferson Street Grounds. Klepfer allowed no runs over 7.1 innings. Matt Cain earned the win to go to 2-0. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts in 8 innings of work. The save was credited to Julio Urias, his 7th.
Los Angeles used the clutch hitting of Eric Davis to snag the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Thunder Ducks ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"We've got a great group of guys," Davis said, "and we're having fun right now."
Los Angeles, now 17-7, has gotten their season off to a good start.
