Waner on Fire: 5-for-5 for New York | It seemed New York Knights right fielder Lloyd Waner could do no wrong today, but it still didn't come out right.
The Knights fell against the Boston Boomers by the score of 5-4. Waner did all he could, rapping out 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but in the end, Boston prevailed at Recreation Park 1885-1890.
"I felt real good today, but my best just wasn't enough," Waner said in the postgame interview. "We didn't play well enough to win. I saw the ball well and put the ball in play well, and they fell in for base hits. Some days they do that."
Lloyd Waner singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Frank Lary in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This year Waner has hit at a .327 clip with 136 hits, 4 home runs, 46 RBIs and 61 runs scored. | | | | |
