| Day-to-Day Injury Shelves Doyle Friday, April 30th , 1937 The topic du jour around Hoboken is whether Larry Doyle of the Zephyrs will suit up for today's contest. He was injured yesterday against the Crawdads while colliding with a player at a base. The standout 32-year-old second baseman has an elbow sprain and didn't rule out playing, but did say that if pain persisted, he would not risk further injury.
"Larry will play if he can," said the team doctor. "He hasn't got a major injury, but at the same time, we need to monitor the situation and protect him as much as possible."
This season Doyle has hit at a .190 clip and produced 15 runs batted in, 7 home runs and 15 runs. | | |
