The New York Knights defeated the Baltimore Nordiques, 5-3, at South End Grounds 1888-1894. New York third baseman Charley Bassett had a superb performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Tyson Ross notched his 4th save in 7 chances. The third-place Nordiques have lost 4 consecutive games.

Bassett had a timely hit for New York in the top of the sixth. With Baltimore trailing 3-2, he turned a 1-0 changeup into a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season, making it 4-3, New York.
