The Albany Senators defeated the Los Angeles Thunder Ducks, 5-3, in Ethereum action at West Side Park 1885-1890. Albany pitcher John Ewing had a standout performance. Ewing, now 8-4, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 11 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs.

Farmer Vaughn had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Albany. He came through with a 2-run home run to put Albany in front, 5-0.
