Thrilling Win Pushes Creepy Hollow to Next Round | Carl Fischer said he was extremely nervous before taking the mound in the Wildcard.
"How could you not be?" Fischer said. "There's not much margin for error in a one-game series and that's nerve-wracking."
But the Creepy Hollow hurler soon settled in, and it showed. His club came out on top, with a 5-2 win at West Side Park 1885-1890 over the Albany Senators, to advance to the Divisional.
"Once you get going, you sort of calm down a bit," Fischer explained. "But we're still relieved to get the win, that's for sure."
Fischer was named MVP after throwing 7 innings, with 7 strikeouts, while allowing 7 hits, 1 walk and 2 runs.
Albany manager Ryan Jackson said his club was "disappointed, but not devastated" and he promised they would be back contending for another World Series next season.
The Creepy Hollow Vampires will play against the New York Knights in the next round. New York had a bye in the Wildcard. The Divisional schedule will be announced after the Wildcard finishes. | |
