Bluebirds Even With Congressmen After Walk-Off Win | The Bay City Bluebirds and the Capital Congressmen will take the League to a decisive 7th game. The Bluebirds got a dramatic walk-off victory in a must-win situation today to beat the Congressmen 4-2 at Thunder Bears Grounds and force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Bay City shortstop Joe Sewell was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs.
Ed McKean was the walk-off hero for Bay City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bluebirds second baseman hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
"Things broke our way today and that's great," Bluebirds manager Keith Luff said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Thunder Bears Grounds in El Paso. | | | | |
